The Hedgehog, a country pub in Lichfield

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

Originally called Lyncroft House and home to composer Muzio Clementi, the now beautifully restored pub sits in its own grounds and large gardens, with ample off-road parking. Built in 1797, 13 years after the death of Lichfield's most famous son, Dr Samuel Johnson, the building retains its character thanks to a recent £1m restoration project.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Charming country pubs in lovely locations

Originally Lyncroft House and dating to 1797, our country inn with its large, undulating gardens is within sight of Lichfield's historic cathedral. Lichfield's most famous sons include Dr Samuel Johnson who compiled the first English Dictionary.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Hedgehog.
