The Walton Fox, a country pub in Preston
We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.
As pubs with history go, you’d be hard pressed to find a more historic pub than The Walton Fox in Bamber Bridge.
Once known as Little Walton and rising 150 feet above the surrounding area, our pub was on the site of the 1648 battle between the Duke of Hamilton and the Parliamentarians, led by Oliver Cromwell. The Walton Fox’s heritage makes it the perfect, rustic pub that historians and ramblers alike love to visit.
Our beautiful surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu and the hand-picked cask ales or fine wines served at our bar.
Whether you’re planning dinner with friends, Sunday lunch with the family or just a well-earned pint after taking your four-legged friend for a walk — book your table online and enjoy quality time with those you love the most.
Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.
