We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you. 

The Woodside's origins were towards the end of the 19th Century, when it was constructed as a private house for use by the managers of the local collieries. Worsley has a long history in the mining industry, with coal being mined in the area since the 14th Century. Although the mines may be gone, the guests keep coming to our traditional building steeped in heritage.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

With a nearby river, canal and nature reserve, and unique industrial heritage, there are plenty of fascinating rambles to be had from The Woodside. And there's excellent shopping in Manchester for a great day out.
