The Hesketh Arms, a country pub in Southport
We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.
As one of the longest established pubs in the area, locals have enjoyed coming to the Hesketh Arms (previously known as the Black Bull) for over 200 years. Guests from local towns such as Ormskirk and Formby have returned time and time again, looking to unwind in historic settings after busy days visiting Southport's thriving shopping and entertainment attractions.
Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.
Charming country pubs in lovely locations
Conveniently sited for lively Southport, The Hesketh Arms has been offering a warm welcome since the 18th century. Overlooking the grounds of 12th century Meols Hall, it is also close to the fascinating Botanic Gardens.
Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Hesketh Arms.
