The Melville Inn, a country pub in Lasswade
We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.
Melville Castle sits to the south of the Inn. This three-storey gothic styled castellated house has recently been restored. It replaced an earlier tower house built by Henry Dundas, the first Viscount Melville. A mile to the east of the Melville Inn are ancient fortification mounds known as Sheriff's Hall where there has long stood an old house in which George Buchanan is said to have written the "History of Scotland".
Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.
