The Plymouth Arms, a country pub in Cardiff

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

The inn takes its name from Elizabeth Lewis, heiress of a major local landowner in the area, who married the Third Earl of Plymouth in the early 1700's. The Plymouth Arms' location provided easy access to Cardiff and was a popular stop off point for people travelling there in traditional handsom cabs.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Charming country pubs in lovely locations

Our lovely Grade II listed pub has great character. It's almost on the doorstep of the National History Museum and St Fagans Castle which has a commanding position above the River Ely.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Plymouth Arms.
