The Vine, a country pub in Wolverhampton

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

The inn started life as a private house in the early 18th century, but by 1851, it had become The Vine. The inn drew much of its trade form local farm labourers, although the fact that The Vine used to have its own stables suggests that it was also frequented by horseback travellers on long journeys.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Charming country pubs in lovely locations

The Vine, a beautiful inn dating from the early 1700s, is at the heart of picturesque Wombourne. It's a great stop for walkers on the nearby Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, and the South Staffordshire Railway Path. It is situated just a 10-minute drive from Highgate Common where you can follow the network of paths crossing the woodland and heathland. Or why not head to Himley Park, an 18th Century building set amongst 180 acres of landscaped parkland which plays host to a variety of outdoor events.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Vine.
