The Royal Oak, a country pub in Orpington

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

Our location in Orpington makes us an ideal place to stop for a bite to eat... before or after a long journey. When you stop you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of our rustic pub restaurant. We were formerly home to the Orpington Folk Club until they moved in 1965, although the Club still provides entertainment in Orpington.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

A charming country pub in Orpington

Our distinctive looking inn is near High Elms Country Park, a mix of conservation areas, unspoiled woodland, formal gardens, wildflower meadows and nature trails. Down House, the home of Charles Darwin, is also nearby.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Royal Oak.
