KEEPING BUSY IN Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
There are plenty of exciting things to visit in and around Gosforth Park, before or after your visit to The Falcon’s Nest.
Love history? Make sure to visit Newcastle Castle. Located just 17 minutes away from The Falcon’s Nest via the A167, this Norman fortress is steeped in history and was used as a starting point for invasions of Scotland and as stopping points for armies en-route to battle. Enjoy exploring the ancient passageways and chambers, discovering the hidden stories of the Castle’s inhabitants over the centuries and take a journey through The Gateway to Old Newcastle.
Why not also visit the iconic Tyne Bridge? A key part of the city’s identity and a symbol of Newcastle, the bridge was built by the same company that build the Sydney Harbour Bridge and was officially opened by King George V in October 1928. Take in the sights and history that Gosforth Park and its surrounding areas have to offer, then head to The Falcon’s Nest for a pint or delicious dish.
