Named after the local legend of a good wizard – known as the “cunning man” — who protected the locals from dark spirits and witches, The Cunning Man has a storied past. More recently restored in its original style, complete with a charming, thatched roof, it’s the go-to spot for socialising to make stories of your own.
These days, we’re all about making new memories in our private hire space, ready to host your next event, whether that’s a business meeting, birthday party, baby shower or wedding celebration.

Based on the ground floor of our gorgeous pub, this private hire space is perfect for all group occasions – from fairy-lit occasions with friends and family to elegant work events spent gathered around a crackling log fireplace.
You’ll have all you need, whether you’re going all out for a celebration or elevating an important work meeting – and it’ll be complete with complimentary Wi-Fi, of course, for sharing the best memories as they happen.
