The Devil's Dyke, a country pub in Brighton

We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.

The pub restaurant offers an ideal spot to rest after a day exploring the Devil's Dyke Valley, from which it got its name. According to local folklore the valley is an unfinished trench which was dug by the Devil in an attempt to flood the churches of the Weald. The valley now plays host to The Dyke Golf Club and Dyke Golf Course.

Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

A charming country pub in Brighton

Our pub is on the beautiful Downs with great views overlooking Brighton - on a clear day can see London. It takes its name from the nearby beauty spot, a valley supposedly dug by the Devil.

Whether you’re out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, there’s always plenty to do around The Devil's Dyke.
