Combining our former use as The Fox Hotel and a Roman grave found on the site in 1833, The Fox & Roman has more than a few stories to tell – some of which are still being told thanks to the artefacts we have on display.
These days, we’re all about helping your stories come to life in our beautiful private hire space, ready to host your next event, whether that’s a business meeting, birthday party, baby shower or wedding celebration.

The Beck Room
Maximum capacity: 18 seated, 20 standing
Flooded with light from the large bay window, The Beck Room is our effortlessly cosy semi-private hire space with a rustic country atmosphere and equally warm, welcoming décor. The room can be arranged in a variety of seating options for all occasions, with a floor-to-ceiling curtain for keeping your celebration private.
You’ll have all you need, whether you’re going all out for a celebration or elevating an important work meeting – and it’ll be complete with complimentary Wi-Fi, of course, for sharing the best memories as they happen.
